Harvesting winegrower with organic and biodynamic vineyards. Heir to a family tradition dating back to 1795, when his grandfather Jean-Martin Geyl ploughed his vines and made his wine, Jean-Christophe Bott has been running Domaine Bott-Geyl since 1993. He works with small yields, converted the estate to organic farming in 2000 and to biodynamic viticulture in 2002, and manages his vinification in a natural, minimalist way: this is the art of combining tradition and modernity, perpetuating the vineyard and caring for the environment. Today, the estate boasts 18 hectares, including 6 Grands Crus, 4 Lieux-dits and a historic Clos. Jean-Christophe and his team strive to sublimate the natural qualities and particularities of each of their terroirs, and to vinify them in such a way that their specific characteristics are reflected in the wines.
The estate is a member of Biodyvin, the winegrowers' association for biodynamic viticulture, as well as of the Collège Culinaire de France and ACT (Alsace Cru et Terroir).
