Established in 1976, this centre is dedicated to offering the public the chance to explore the local natural environment within an authentic setting - an area of 5 hectares - and working for the protection of various wildlife species threatened with extinction:
- the White Stork, victim of the traps that are set during the migration season and of the disappearance of its habitats... 200 of these wading birds thrive freely here,
- the European Otter (vanished in the past and reintroduced between 1998 and 2000 on the Alsace rivers), which can be observed indulging in its favourite activities: swimming, playing, eating and sleeping ! - in a reconstituted natural environment,
- the European Hamster, a cute-faced little rodent living exclusively in Alsace.
